Zombies are hitting the stage in Timmins and they are bringing with them…ghosts?
Get ready to attend the next Take Two Theatre production happening October 24, 25, and 26, 2019 at Timmins High and Vocational School.
There will be two one-act performances beginning with Rob Hockley’s Darkness in the Night, directed by Mike Cartan. The play takes place in an abandoned house, which just so happens to be the “portal to the underworld”. Upon arriving there, the two young metalheads–Dave and Bob–find themselves in the presence of Dave’s allegedly dead ex-girlfriend, Lily, and her equally dead friend, Kate.
There will be confusion, there will be confessions of love, there will be Stygian darkness! But, most of all, there will be laughter, as Dave embarks upon a hopeless journey to resurrect his dear Lily from the beyond.
Act two introduces Will Averill’s comical rendition of a Shakespeare classic.
Hamlet and Zombies! (or something’s rotting in the state of Denmark) is just what you expect it to be–the timeless Hamlet with the addition of lumbering zombies. Can Hamlet slay the zombies and save his land from the invading forces of dead?
A contemporary spin on the Shakespearean dialect provides a multitude of zany one-liners and unexpected buffoonery to keep you laughing through the show. This is a must-see for everyone, regardless of their appreciation for Shakespeare.
Darkness in the Night & Hamlet and Zombies! is rated PG-13.
